Lead Heating Engineer/Plumber

Position: Full Time (Monday to Friday – 8am to 5pm)

Driving Licence: Full Driving Licence Essential (Van and fuel card provided)

Location: Evergreen HQ based in Lyme Regis, but we cover Dorset, Devon and Somerset (approx. 25 mile radius of Lyme Regis)

Salary: Pay £38,000 to £43,000 per year- depending on experience and qualifications.

Evergreen is a family run business based in Lyme Regis. We are primarily a renewables installation company, installing, heat pumps, heating systems, solar PV, batteries, EV chargers, etc. We have our own team of heating engineers and electricians. Our staff are offered regular training sessions to keep up with the latest developments. The right candidate will be joining a growing company at an exciting time and will be given a great opportunity to work and progress in the ever-evolving renewables sector. 

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced and qualified heating engineer to join our growing team. Would suit someone with existing supervisory experience or a heating engineer who would like to take a step up to lead role, in which case training will be given.

The successful candidate will work in a team of plumber and electricians on renewable projects including Air & Ground Source Heat Pump installations, heating and underfloor heating installation and on bespoke new build and renovation projects with an emphasis on sustainability. Training will be given where necessary.

Oversee projects and manage staff to ensure all works carried out are meeting customer expectations and all company requirements. This will include liaising with customers, planning and organising site work, ordering materials and commissioning / signing off projects.

All the above with the support of the office and General Manager – it is a team effort!

Key requirements:

Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, as required

Be able to manage a small team of operatives

Must have good communication skills, with good standard of written and spoken English and be of smart appearance with pleasant and friendly manner

Have basic IT skills and be computer literate

  • NVQ Level 3 Domestic Plumbing & heating or equivalent
  • G3 Unvented qualified
  • Must have a good understanding of domestic heating systems
  • Experience of heat pump installations an advantage, but not essential as training will be given
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements
  • Full UK driving licence
